About The OLOLPA
Background of the OLOLPA
The Our Lady of Loreto Philanthropic Association (OLOLPA) was founded in 2003 by alumni of
Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Elementary School (62nd & Grays Avenue, Philadelphia, PA). These
individuals, in grateful appreciation of the education and personal spiritual and cultural
foundation instilled in them by the dedicated Bernardine Sisters and Lay Faculty who taught at
the school, formed the OLOLPA to "give back the gift".
Mission of the OLOLPA
The Our Lady of Loreto Philanthropic Association is incorporated (June 2, 2003) under the
Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988 for the following purposes:
To provide spiritual, social and charitable service to our members and related causes.
The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, literary, scientific, religious and
educational purposes and is a recognized charitable organization under section 509 (a) (2)
of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and does not contemplate pecuniary gain or profit,
incidental or otherwise.
Presently, the OLOLPA is dedicated to establishing a scholarship fund for children to attend
Catholic Elementary School. Currently we are only financially secure enough to serve one
school. The school we serve is Mary Mother of Peace Area Catholic School, Philadelphia, PA.
