I believe the school was built in 1959. The building wasn't complete when school started in September. The first through fourth grade classes were held in the church hall. First and second grades were combined; third and fourth grades were combines. Down the street on the corner of Grays and 63rd the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades. I believe the school building was completed in October. The convent was completed at the same time. The nuns came to the city in the summer around July. They stayed in the home of Jennie Fusaro. Jennie was my aunt and we lived next door to eachother. She and her family moved in with us. It was so much fun having the nuns next door. I remember when they left. We cried.

I hope that this old timer did well with her memories of the way it was.
